Aquatic Project Solutions is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team delivering commercial swimming pool, aquatic facility, tank, plant room and associated construction projects across Australia.
This is a full-time position suited to a skilled carpenter with strong experience in commercial construction, timber formwork, concrete structures and site-based carpentry works. The successful applicant will work on a range of specialised aquatic construction projects, including new commercial swimming pools, public pool refurbishments, balance tanks, concrete tanks, plant rooms, retaining structures, fencing and associated building works.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out skilled carpentry and formwork duties on commercial construction sites. The role includes reading and interpreting construction drawings, setting out works, measuring and cutting materials, constructing timber formwork, installing edge boards, forming block-outs and penetrations, and installing timber bracing, propping and temporary supports.
The role requires a reliable and experienced tradesperson who can work accurately from plans and specifications, safely use carpentry tools and equipment, and complete works to the required quality, safety and project standards.
The position may require travel to regional and remote project locations from time to time, particularly for the construction and renovation of public and community swimming pools.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings and specifications; setting out works on site in accordance with plans, levels and measurements; measuring, marking, cutting, shaping and assembling timber, plywood and other construction materials; constructing and installing timber formwork for commercial swimming pools, tanks, walls, slabs, hob walls, stairs, edge beams and associated concrete structures; installing edge boards, boxing, rebates, penetrations, stop-ends and timber block-outs; constructing timber block-outs for pipe penetrations, fittings, equipment openings and cast-in items; installing timber bracing, propping and temporary supports to maintain formwork stability and alignment; checking levels, dimensions, squareness, plumb, line and finish prior to concrete placement; stripping, modifying and repairing formwork where required; carrying out carpentry works associated with plant rooms, fencing, retaining walls and general site works; safely using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment; working with supervisors, concreters, steel fixers, plumbers, tilers and other trades; and completing works in accordance with project drawings, specifications, WHS requirements and company procedures.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should hold a relevant carpentry trade qualification, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry, Certificate III in Carpentry and Joinery, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.
Required Skills and Experience
Applicants must have practical experience working as a carpenter in the construction industry, preferably in commercial construction, concrete structures, formwork carpentry, swimming pool construction, tank construction or similar works.
The successful applicant must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; accurately measure, mark, cut and assemble timber, plywood and other materials; set out works to levels, lines and dimensions; construct and install timber formwork, edge boards, boxing, rebates, penetrations and block-outs; install bracing, propping and temporary supports safely and correctly; check work for accuracy prior to concrete placement; safely operate carpentry hand tools, power tools and site equipment; follow WHS requirements on active construction sites; coordinate with supervisors and other trades; and complete works to a high standard of quality and workmanship.
Experience working on commercial construction sites will be highly regarded.

Pay: $77,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
