Kickstart your career in a specialist area of insurance with strong long-term growth opportunities. As a Construction& Engineering Underwriting Assistant, you'll support Underwriters and brokers through a mix of administrative, technical, and relationship-focused responsibilities. From assisting with renewals, quotes, and policy management to engaging with brokers and supporting business development activities, you'll gain valuable exposure across underwriting and the wider insurance market. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and working in a dynamic environment where confidence, curiosity and a positive attitude are highly valued. This is a permanent full-time role based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Naarm (Melbourne) or Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney).
What You'll Do
Support Underwriters and Senior Underwriters with key administrative tasks, including claims history reviews, certificates of currency and underwriting support activities.
Build and manage broker relationships, including renewals, new business, quotes, and market engagement.
Apply underwriting strategies across targeted SME Construction& Engineering portfolios.
Provide product guidance and support to broker partners and customers.
Contribute to team targets while supporting the wider Construction& Engineering team.
Represent the business through broker meetings, industry events, networking and customer presentations.
What You'll Bring
Experience in a customer-facing role; insurance industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a confident and personable approach.
Self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Analytical mindset with strong numerical reasoning and commercial acumen.
Solutions-focused, adaptable, and comfortable navigating change and ambiguity.
Interest in technology and innovation; recent graduates and candidates from construction-related trades are encouraged to apply.
