You will be responsible for the oversight of security services related to Government buildings and mobile patrols. The position is also responsible for the management of operational shift needs including staffing, taskings and incident response where required.
Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
Provide leadership, supervision, direction, and on-the-job training of staff, (including mobile patrols staff) in addition to identification of staff training needs through Performance and Development Agreements.
Lead efficient and effective work teams providing quality protective security service delivery.
Allocate resources in consultation with Security Operations Officer / Senior Site Security Coordinator, (human and physical) to meet operational and administrative requirements.
Provide urgent back-up assistance to Protective Services Officers in critical incident situations.
Prepare comprehensive reports in consultation with Security Operations Officer / Senior Site Security Coordinator on operational, administration and staffing issues.
Manage first response to incidents until resolution or handover to relevant emergency services provider.
Liaise with stakeholders to assist in the resolution of issues and improve service delivery.

Successful completion of the Protective Services Officer course, to be facilitated by Protective Services Group, is a component of the selection process and a pre-requisite for appointment to this position.
Appointees will be required to participate in a 24 hour, 7-day roster with working hours of approximately 38 hours per week. Relevant allowances and shift penalties apply to this position.
