We are seeking highly adaptable individuals to join our Business Continuity Management team.
As a Business Continuity Officer, you will be a key leader responsible for coordinating the ATO's operational response to significant business disruptions and ensuring organisational readiness to effectively manage continuity incidents. You'll apply strong leadership, analytical thinking, sound judgement, and stakeholder engagement skills to deliver outcomes in a complex and dynamic environment.
You will manage, validate, and apply business continuity and organisational resilience processes to ensure continuity arrangements align with enterprise priorities, critical business functions, and recovery objectives. You'll play an important role in strengthening the ATO's resilience and ability to maintain essential services during disruptions.
You will lead and contribute to a range of continuity and resilience activities, including:
-
Incident coordination during business continuity events
-
Development and maintenance of business continuity management (BCM) plans, frameworks, and governance processes
-
Readiness and preparedness uplift activities across the organisation
-
Design and delivery of training, exercising, and awareness initiatives
-
Engagement with Whole-of-Federal-Government (WoFG) partners on continuity and resilience matters
You will operate in a dynamic and often high-pressure environment, leading teams and coordinating activities during emergency, security, or continuity incidents. You'll also be required to support after-hours responses when needed to assist in the management of critical events and ensure effective organisational recovery.
Due to the nature of continuity operations, BCM staff will be required to work outside regular hours, operate from alternative locations, and use ATO-issued mobile devices when responding to incidents. This will include participation in rostered 24/7 Restriction Duty which includes weeknights and weekends.
Candidates need to hold a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance.
These roles may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in Albury or Penrith and occasional travel to other ATO sites is a requirement of the role.
We embrace the strength of diversity – through our people and the perspectives they bring.
We are committed to inclusive recruitment practices and encourage applications from people with disability or neurodivergence, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and individuals from all backgrounds. Reasonable adjustments can be provided throughout the recruitment process.
