Housekeeper & Meal Prep - residential (Part-Time)
Location: Castle Hill (approx. 12 hours/week)
Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Times: 4 hours per day (flexible start time)
Employment Type: Part time (paid on TFN includes annual/personal leave pro-rata plus superannuation)
Remuneration: Negotiable
Roster: Fixed, consistent weekly schedule (flexible/negotiable initial start times)
About the Role
My client is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive Housekeeper to maintain their 2-storey, 5-bedroom family home. The primary focus of this role is keeping our busy household clean, organised, and running smoothly, alongside preparing simple family meals.
Please note: This is not a childcare position. While we have two young children who will be present in the home, they will not be in your care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning & Floor Care
- Full cleaning of all bathrooms (toilets, showers, baths, sinks, mirrors).
- Kitchen deep cleaning (benchtops, stovetop, sink, appliance exteriors, splashbacks).
- Vacuuming and mopping across both levels.
- Dusting surfaces, skirting boards, shelves, and light fixtures.
- Rubbish/recycling removal and interior glass spot-cleaning.
2. Tidying & Organising
- Making beds and changing linens on a rostered basis.
- Tidying children’s bedrooms, play areas, and organizing toys/books.
- Handling family laundry (washing, drying, folding, and putting away).
- General decluttering of communal living spaces.
- Periodic organization of the pantry, cupboards, and linen closets.
3. Meal Preparation
- Preparing simple, basic everyday family dinners on rostered days (or meals that can be easily reheated later in the week).
- Input on basic meal planning based on family preferences is highly welcomed.
- Cleaning up the kitchen entirely after meal preparation.
What We Provide
- All cleaning supplies and equipment (unless you prefer to use your own).
- All groceries and ingredients required for meal prep.
- A clear initial walkthrough and ongoing daily communication regarding priorities.
Requirements
- Checks: Current, valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a recent National Police Check (within the last 12 months preferred).
- Transport: Your own reliable transport to get to and from the property.
- Work Rights: Full working rights for Australia.
- Experience: Previous domestic cleaning or housekeeping experience is preferred; experience with busy family households is a major plus.
- Skills: Basic, straightforward cooking skills suited for family meals.
- Attributes: Trustworthy, efficient time-manager, strong attention to detail, and comfortable working independently in a home with young children.
