Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks and specialty beverages to café standards
- Greet customers, take orders, and provide friendly, efficient service
- Operate POS, handle cash/cards, and balance takings
- Maintain cleanliness of front-of-house: tables, counter, display cases
- Replenish and rotate retail goods and takeaway items
- Support food service when needed (basic plating, toasties, salads)
- Follow food safety and allergy procedures and store opening/closing checklists
- Build rapport with regulars and promote specials/loyalty programs
Requirements
- 1+ year barista or customer-facing experience preferred (training available for enthusiastic starters)
- Strong customer service skills and positive attitude
- Ability to work quickly under pressure, multitask, and stay organized
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player; flexible availability including early mornings and weekends
- Basic familiarity with espresso machines and grinders a plus
- Food safety/Allergen awareness preferred
