About the Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Supplier Assurance Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality, compliant supply chain outcomes across Austal Defence Australia (ADA).
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the performance, quality, and compliance of suppliers supporting major defence programs. You will contribute to supplier assurance activities, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen supply chain reliability.

What’s Involved

Monitor and analyse supplier performance against agreed KPIs

Identify risks, trends, and non‑conformances and support corrective actions
-
Support internal and external audits and ensure audit readiness
-
Assist with investigation and closure of quality and compliance issues
-
Maintain and update supply chain documentation in line with QMS requirements
-
Support process governance, documentation control, and compliance activities
-
Deliver and support supply chain process training for stakeholders
-
Liaise with cross‑functional teams including procurement, quality, and engineering
-
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain operations
You’ll Need
Essential
-
Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Quality Management or equivalent experience
-
2+ years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, or quality assurance
-
Experience using ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle or similar)
-
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving skills
-
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
-
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable
-
Experience conducting supplier or internal audits
-
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar)

Experience in defence, maritime, or manufacturing environments
-
Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
-
Advanced Excel or Power BI skills
