About us
Wesley Mission is a leading, faith-based, for-purpose organisation delivering community services across NSW and beyond. With a workforce of approximately 2,000 employees and 1,000 volunteers, the organisation supports individuals and communities experiencing disadvantage through a broad portfolio of services spanning housing, aged care, disability, mental health and family support.
Grounded in a mission of “doing all the good we can because every life matters,” Wesley Mission combines deep social impact with an increasing focus on organisational capability, systems and performance.
About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, Community Services, this is a critical enterprise leadership role with impact across a large, complex and multi-site workforce. You will lead Wesley Mission’s People & Culture strategy, aligning workforce culture, capability, leadership and people technologies to support organisational performance and strategic priorities.
With accountability for the full People & Culture portfolio, you will oversee strategy, operations and service delivery across workforce planning, organisational development, talent, employee relations, volunteering, WHS, payroll and people technologies and systems. A key focus will be the delivery of a significant people systems transformation, embedding scalable technology, streamlined processes and data-led insights to improve decision-making and employee experience.
Acting as a trusted advisor to the MD, Community Services Leadership Team and CEO and Superintendent, you will contribute to organisational design, workforce strategy, engagement, safety and culture, while maintaining strong governance across compliance, risk and employment relations. You will balance strategic leadership with execution, leading a high-performing team, strengthening organisational capability and fostering a values-led culture aligned to Wesley Mission’s purpose and future direction.
About You
You are a senior People & Culture leader with proven experience operating at scale in complex, service-led organisations. You bring deep expertise across the full employee and volunteer lifecycle, including workforce strategy, organisational design, employee relations and culture transformation, and ideally have delivered impact in multi-site environments such as community services, health, government or education.
You have a strong track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation, including people systems implementation, workforce analytics and process improvement. Commercial and pragmatic, you translate strategy into clear, executable people initiatives, using data to drive performance, manage risk and ensure compliance. You lead high-performing teams and partner effectively with executives and Boards to deliver measurable improvements in capability, engagement and organisational outcomes.
As a credible and values-led leader, you are comfortable navigating complexity and driving change in ambiguous environments. You influence at the executive level, balance strategic oversight with delivery, and remain focused on outcomes and culture. You bring a genuine commitment to purpose-led work, with an active Christian faith and alignment to Wesley Mission’s vision, mission and values.
