Woodroffe Hotel is a 103-room hotel in Southport, conveniently located close to Southport South tram station, Australia Fair Shopping Centre and Broadwater Parklands. As we do not have a separate maintenance team, we are currently seeking a reliable and versatile Housekeeping & Maintenance Attendant. In this dual role, you will help ensure our rooms and public areas are clean, comfortable, and guest-ready, while also handling general upkeep and basic repairs around the property.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and service guest rooms, including beds, bathrooms, floors and surfaces
- Replace linen, replenish room supplies, and maintain back-of-house areas
- Perform basic maintenance and handyperson duties across the hotel (e.g., repairs, moving furniture, basic troubleshooting)
- Identify and resolve immediate maintenance issues, reporting major damage to your supervisor
- Engage in manual labour and heavy lifting as required for hotel upkeep
- Use cleaning materials with care and strictly follow safety procedures
Skills and Experience
- Experience with, or a strong willingness to learn, general maintenance and handyperson tasks
- Comfortable in a physically active role requiring manual labour
- At least 1 year of experience as a room attendant, cleaner, or in a similar role is preferred
- Able to follow instructions, work independently, and solve practical problems
- Highly flexible and available to work a rotating roster (including mornings, weekends, and public holidays)
Pay and conditions
Part-time, Permanent $26.44 per hour base rate, plus superannuation
Applicable penalty rates apply, up to $59.49 per hour (Including loading for night, weekend, and public holiday shifts)
