About the role
We are currently seeking experienced Pressure Welders to join our Fabrication team based at our Somersby and Mt Gambier facilities.
Reporting to the Fabrication Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies
- Select, clean, and prepare metal materials in accordance with fabrication needs
- Cut marked metal sections and components using hand tools, thermal cutting equipment, and metal cutting machinery
- Clean, dress, and smooth welds using filing, chiselling, and grinding techniques
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine job requirements
- Join metal components using a variety of welding processes, as well as bolting and riveting methods
- Inspect completed welds to ensure appropriate quality standards are achieved
This is a full-time position, with a compressed working week of Monday to Thursday (6:00am-4:00pm). Salary for this position will be not less than $79,499 per annum.
About you
To be considered for this position you will have:
- Qualified and experienced in weldin
- Demonstrated experience in trouble shooting, problem solving and fault findin
- Ability to read and interpret drawings / blueprints
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised as well as part of a team
- Have worked in a continuous manufacturing environment
As part of the selection process, applicants must be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical examination which includes functional, audiometric, drug and alcohol testing.
