What you'll be doing
As an Operating Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting clinicians and ensuring patients receive safe, respectful and efficient care throughout their surgical journey.
- Assist with the safe transfer and positioning of patients across theatre, recovery and High Dependency Units
- Provide compassionate, person-centred support to patients who may be physically, mentally or emotionally distressed
- Clean, prepare and maintain operating rooms, surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Prepare and position equipment prior to procedures to ensure efficient theatre turnaround
- Operate industrial equipment and cleaning chemicals in line with safe work practices

Selection Criteria:
1. Ability to demonstrate experience in patient transportation and positioning within an Operating Suite and ability to adapt to the demands of a Perioperative environment.
2. Sound knowledge of Operating Suite equipment and maintenance.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Manual handling principles and requirements.
4. Proven ability to communicate with a variety of patients, staff, and managers.
5. Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
