Job Description
Join our Façade and Sustainability team as a Technical Director. This is a senior leadership role providing strategic, technical and operational leadership across a portfolio of façade consulting and engineering projects. In this role, you will act as a trusted technical authority on complex and high-risk work, contributing to business growth across both new build and remedial sectors within the region.
You will oversee façade design, engineering, documentation, project administration and delivery, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards and regulatory obligations, while supporting high-quality outcomes, strong client relationships and the continued development of the façade discipline. This role is based in Australia, with preference to Brisbane.
You will also be responsible for:

Providing senior technical leadership across façade engineering projects, ensuring high standards in design, engineering, documentation, delivery and compliance

Contributing high-level expertise to complex and high-risk projects, including concept development, technical strategy, peer review and problem resolution

Overseeing and supporting the delivery of façade, cladding and specialist systems, including coordination with multidisciplinary consultants and construction-phase support

Ensuring effective project management through appropriate resourcing, programme management, risk management, quality control and adherence to budget and delivery milestones

Supporting regional strategy and business planning activities, including technical innovation, service development and future capability growth

Assisting with financial management, including project budgeting, invoicing accuracy, debtor management and financial reporting oversight

Strengthening client relationships through trusted technical advice, proactive communication and the delivery of high-quality outcomes

Contributing to marketing and business development activities including proposals, client presentations, cross-disciplinary collaboration and industry engagement

Leading, mentoring and developing staff through technical guidance, performance support, workload planning, training and recruitment assistance

Promoting and upholding quality management systems, ensuring compliance with standards, procedures, health and safety requirements and professional obligations
Qualifications
Ideally, you will bring extensive experience in façade consulting, structural engineering or a related building engineering discipline, including a track record leading complex façade projects across both new build and remedial works. In addition, you will also have:

Proven capability in concept design, detailed engineering, documentation, peer review and construction-phase support

Demonstrated experience providing technical authority on complex, high-risk or innovative projects

A track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and mentoring both senior and junior staff

Experience in client relationship management, including acting as a trusted technical advisor

A strong understanding of project financials, including fee management, budgets, risk appraisal and commercial decision-making

Experience contributing to business growth through proposals, tenders, cross-selling and strategic planning

A high level of familiarity with quality management systems, governance and professional accountability

Strong technical judgement, with the ability to make balanced, well-reasoned decisions on complex and high-risk matters

Strategic thinking that links technical decisions to long-term business, client and capability outcomes

Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences alike
