About the Role
Canterbury Hospital is committed to providing high quality healthcare services to our local community, focused on patient and family-centred care. Since opening in 1929 our hospital continues to grow to meet the changing needs of our community and incorporate new models of care.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Health Informatics Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all functions of Canterbury Hospital’s Health Informatics Unit. This Unit is responsible for the Business As Usual (BAU) functions of Canterbury Hospital as it relates to the use of the clinical information systems.
The role works closely with Hospital Executive, clinical staff and SLHD Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Services regarding the development, implementation and maintenance of these systems.
The position is aligned with the SLHD Health Informatics Unit structure and has a professional reporting line to the Director and Deputy Director.

Ideal Candidate
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards the same and/or or relevant work experience.
- Proven leadership and change management skills with demonstrated organisational, analytical and conceptual skills.
- Previous experience in project management, business process review, organisational change and benefits realisation methodologies.
