The Role
As a Senior Property Officer, you’ll provide trusted commercial property advice that helps the business make smart decisions about land acquisition and access. You’ll play a key role in securing value for money, managing opportunities and supporting the organisation’s strategic priorities and key business activities.
Your Key Responsibilities

Lead the timely acquisition of land and land interests needed to support the delivery of major projects.

Provide expert property advice to project teams and help develop and deliver effective land acquisition strategies.

Proactively identify land requirements and opportunities to support capital works projects.

Provide strategic advice on land access to help projects progress smoothly and stay on track.

Coordinate planning, environmental and other required approvals and processes.

Work closely with project teams and consultants to manage cultural heritage, environmental and planning requirements.

Build strong relationships with internal teams, consultants, landowners and other stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes.
What we’re Looking for

Mandatory: Extensive property experience within a large and complex public sector environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of Victorian Government statutory acquisition and compensation frameworks including valuation principles.

Strong expertise in compulsory land acquisition, including managing statutory processes, compensation risk, consultant inputs, stakeholder negotiations and governance approvals

Sound knowledge of property legislation, regulations and government policy.

Strong knowledge of planning, environmental and cultural heritage approvals processes

Experience with preparing drafts of land access agreements, leases and licenses

Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Tertiary qualifications in Property Management or a related discipline (highly regarded).
