AVANA Epoxy Flooring is seeking a skilled and experienced Floor Finisher to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
The successful applicant will prepare, install, repair and finish a range of flooring systems across residential, commercial and industrial projects. This role involves regular travel to project sites and physically demanding work.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure floor areas and interpret project specifications to determine material requirements.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, levelling and repairing concrete and other substrates.
- Remove existing floor coverings and prepare surfaces for new installations.
- Measure, cut and install underlay and flooring materials as required.
- Install and repair flooring systems, including epoxy flooring, resin flooring systems, vinyl and other resilient floor coverings.
- Mix and apply epoxy coatings, resins, sealers and adhesives in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Operate floor grinding, polishing and surface-preparation equipment safely and effectively.
- Sand, grind and finish floor surfaces to the required standard.
- Fit trims, edges and other finishing materials.
- Inspect completed work and carry out repairs or touch-ups where required.
- Coordinate with supervisors, clients and other trades to support timely project completion.
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, safe work method statements and site procedures.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- At least 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Floor Finisher or in a closely related flooring role.
- Practical experience with epoxy flooring systems, surface preparation and finishing techniques.
- Ability to operate floor grinding, polishing and surface-preparation equipment.
- Sound knowledge of flooring materials, installation methods and product-mixing requirements.
- Current driver licence.
- Current Construction White Card.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work and travel to project sites.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace health and safety.
Desirable
- Certificate III in Flooring Technology or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience on commercial and industrial flooring projects.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $90,000.00 per year
