We are hiring for an experienced and multi-skilled Operations Manager to join our team.
The future we’re working towards is one where waste is a valuable resource. Our Operations Manager's play an essential role in getting us there, by working with our team to help provide valuable waste management solutions to our clients and customers.
What you'll be doing
Work with the Resource Recovery Manager to monitor and improve unprofitable accounts using Waste Edge data.
Monitor & analyse KPIs, identify performance issues and implement efficiency improvements.
Lead, motivate and manage the Operations team across two sites.
Ensure all weighing systems are certified, calibrated and fully operational.
Assist in positively resolving customer complaints promptly and effectively.
Develop and implement corrective actions for operational performance issues.
Communicate operational issues and updates with Operations, SHEQ and Fleet teams.
Prepare annual operating, Capex and fleet budgets.
Provide daily operational reporting and statistics.
Conduct operational and route audits to improve efficiency across FEL, REL and RoRo systems.
Maintain compliance with relevant WHS, environmental and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems and procedures.
Manage subcontractor performance, profitability and service standards.
Approve operational expenditure and effectively manage operating costs to improve profitability.
Investigate incidents, accidents, near-misses and hazards; implementing effective corrective actions as required.
Recruit, train, evaluate and manage employee performance and attendance.
Promote safe, efficient and environmentally compliant workplace practices.
Support sales through accurate equipment specification for customer sites.
Complete special projects as directed.

Who you are
Tertiary education in engineering, business, or similar is preferred.
Operations team leadership / management
Waste, recycling and/or Transport Industry experience
People management experience including performance and attendance management
Experience in leading teams through cultural change
Regulatory and quality compliance experience
Process and systems implementation experience
Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Continuous improvement mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Effective team rostering ability to ensure operational delivery is not adversely impacted
Recruitment and selection of drivers and operational team members
