Details: Mount Rogers Primary School is located in Melba, a suburb in the Belconnen region of the ACT. The school has a current enrolment of approximately 500 students, from Preschool to Year 6, and caters to a culturally diverse community.
Mount Rogers Primary School maintains high academic and personal expectations for every student and is committed to the inclusion of all children by fostering positive, collaborative relationships with families and the broader community. There is a strong focus on the explicit and consistent teaching of high-impact literacy and numeracy skills, aligned with the Australian Curriculum. All staff work collaboratively to identify student learning needs and take collective responsibility for planning and delivering differentiated learning. The school takes a holistic approach to wellbeing and fosters a sense of belonging, mastery, autonomy, and purpose in learning and interactions.
The school features expansive grounds, including three playground structures, a ‘Bush Garden’ with Indigenous plant species, and a vegetable garden maintained by students. Teaching and learning are complemented by specialist programs in Auslan, Science Environmental Education and Design (SEED), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), and a robust library program. Auslan is taught as the Language Other Than English (LOTE) from Preschool to Year 6.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Prior to commencing in this role a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
