We are seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our specialist oncology pharmacy team at Slade Pharmacy Auchenflower.
This role offers the opportunity to develop highly sought-after skills in pharmaceutical compounding, aseptic techniques, and oncology pharmacy services. Working alongside experienced pharmacists and other technicians, you’ll play an important role in preparing and supplying medications that support patients undergoing treatment within a specialist cancer care environment.
Located within the Wesley Specialist Centre and directly opposite The Wesley Hospital, Slade Pharmacy Auchenflower provides a range of pharmacy services, including oncology medication compounding, dispensing, and patient support. With Auchenflower Train Station just metres away, the site offers excellent public transport access.

About the Role
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation and compounding of oncology and other specialised medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Learning and applying aseptic techniques within a controlled cleanroom environment.
- Operating a drug safety cabinet and closed-system transfer devices to prepare chemotherapy treatments safely and accurately.
- Supporting dispensing and medication supply services.
- Processing orders and managing inventory levels.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and complying with operational, quality and safety procedures.
- Providing general administrative and operational support to the pharmacy team.
Shift Information
This is a full-time position, offering 76 hours per fortnight. Shifts are scheduled between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Once fully trained, Pharmacy Technicians will participate in an on-call rotation, covering 1 in every 5 weekends and public holidays.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Australian working rights, valid for at least 12 months from date of employment.
- Passionate about healthcare and delivering high-quality patient outcomes.
- Interested in developing specialist skills in medication compounding and oncology pharmacy.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a process-driven environment where quality and accuracy are essential.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.
The following experience is desirable, but not essential
- Previous dispensing experience in an Australian community or hospital pharmacy.
- Experience in pharmacy compounding, manufacturing, laboratory, or other regulated healthcare environments.
