About the Role
We’re looking for a self-motivated pharmacist to join the team as a Dispensary Pharmacist at Slade Pharmacy Geelong.
This is a hands-on dispensary-based role where you will oversee the day-to-day operation of dispensary services across both hospital and retail settings, ensuring the safe, accurate and timely supply of medicines while supporting high standards of patient care and customer service.
Working closely with the Pharmacy Manager and wider clinical team, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient dispensary workflow, medication safety and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a pharmacist who enjoys working within the dispensary and wants to further develop their hospital pharmacy skills in a supportive environment.
While this is not a management position, there will be opportunities for mentoring and professional development. For pharmacists interested in progressing their career, this role can provide a pathway towards future Dispensary Manager responsibilities as skills, confidence and experience develop.
Hospital dispensary experience will be highly regarded; however, community pharmacists with strong high-volume dispensing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day dispensary operations to ensure safe, accurate and efficient medication supply
- Support medication safety, quality use of medicines and compliance with professional standards
- Assist with inventory management and stock control activities
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, technicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the Pharmacy Manager with dispensary workflow and operational activities as required
About You
Key Requirements:
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with AHPRA
- Previous experience working in an Australian hospital and/or community pharmacy setting
- Strong dispensary experience with a commitment to medication safety and quality use of medicines
- Hospital dispensary experience will be highly regarded, but not mandatory
- Community pharmacists with strong high-volume dispensing experience are strongly encouraged to apply
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Highly organised with strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
