Kings Family Dental Centre is looking for a motivated and clinically confident dentist to join our team on a four-day-per-week basis.
We are looking for someone who takes a comprehensive approach to dentistry rather than focusing only on isolated procedures. The ideal candidate should be confident in assessing patients, developing complete treatment plans and presenting a range of appropriate treatment options based on each patient's needs, goals and circumstances.
About the Role
You will be expected to:
- Perform comprehensive examinations and develop complete, well-structured treatment plans
- Confidently discuss different treatment options, including their advantages, limitations and alternatives
- Provide a broad range of general dental treatment and appropriately sequence more complex treatment plans
- Be comfortable providing indirect restorative options such as onlays and inlays, which are encouraged within the practice when clinically appropriate
- Use intraoral photography, digital scanning and other diagnostic technology to support diagnosis, patient education and treatment planning
- Clearly communicate recommendations so patients understand their oral health and the different treatment options available to them
- Maintain thorough clinical records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with the wider clinical and reception team
- Commit to a consistent four-day working week
- Develop long-term relationships with patients and provide continuity of care
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in a dentist who:
- Has a strong and systematic approach to comprehensive treatment planning
- Is comfortable managing patients requiring multiple or staged treatments
- Enjoys presenting patients with different evidence-based treatment options rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach
- Is comfortable incorporating digital dentistry, intraoral photography and scanning into everyday clinical practice
- Is comfortable with onlays and inlays as part of their restorative treatment options
- Has strong patient communication and case presentation skills
- Is reliable and willing to commit to regular days and hours
- Is interested in continuing professional development and expanding their clinical skill set
- Takes pride in clinical quality, patient experience and long-term treatment outcomes
Additional Skills Highly Regarded
Experience or an interest in expanding into broader treatment modalities is highly valued. In particular, experience with:
- Clear aligner treatment
- Dental implants
- More advanced restorative or cosmetic dentistry
- Digital workflows and treatment planning
would be highly regarded.
Dentists who are not currently experienced in every one of these areas are still encouraged to apply if they have a strong foundation in general dentistry and a genuine willingness to develop their skills.
Professional Development
We are looking for someone who wants to continue developing as a clinician. There is opportunity to expand your knowledge and experience across different areas of dentistry, with support for a dentist who demonstrates commitment, initiative and a willingness to learn.
This position would suit someone looking for a long-term role within a growing dental practice, rather than a short-term or occasional position.
Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a dentist
- Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong clinical and treatment-planning abilities
- Availability to work approximately four days per week
If you are a dentist who enjoys comprehensive treatment planning, digital dentistry and providing patients with well-explained treatment choices, we would love to hear from you.
