About the role
The Senior Social Worker provides high quality social work services across a range of areas aimed at improving the social and emotional wellbeing of clients referred to our service. The Senior Social Worker, in accordance with their professional and ethical standards, assists clients and their families in providing evidence-based and evidence informed social work methodologies. The Senior Social Worker also provides professional development, clinical education, and clinical supervision to other workers within the team, especially the Social Workers and Social Work placement students.
The SEWB team are prioritising applications from Senior Social Workers to expand and strengthen culturally-centred practice across the team. This position will work alongside the SEWB leadership team to enhance and support the SEWB strategic direction. We are happy to accept applications from other candidates who may have something different to offer to our service. Applications from female Social Workers will be prioritised.
To be considered for this position, you will require:

A four-year undergraduate qualification or Master's degree in Social Work recognised or accredited by the AASW, with considerable experience in social work practice.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the social and emotional wellbeing needs and issues of Aboriginal people.

Demonstrated ability in delivering social work intervention and individuals and/or groups.

Competency in providing professional development, clinical education, and clinical supervision to a multidisciplinary team.

Upholds confidentiality and cultural sensitivity in health and Aboriginal community settings.

Awareness of Aboriginal culture within Australia's history, knowledge of cultural sensitivities and current issues affecting the lives of Aboriginal people in conjunction with a willingness to incorporate Aboriginal values into practice.

Current Driver's License or the ability to obtain.

Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and from remote locations.
