The District Docklands Centre Management Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced accountant to join their team.
The accountant will be undertaking the following duties:
- Preparing, examining, and analysing financial records, accounts payable and receivable transactions, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
- Maintaining and administering financial management systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, MRI, and SNAP to record and process financial transactions and ensure data integrity
- Preparing and processing weekly payment runs, reviewing creditor invoices for accuracy and authorisation prior to payment in line with established internal controls
- Liaising with internal departments, vendors, and clients to resolve financial discrepancies, obtain payment approvals, and provide advice on accounting matters
- Reconciling accounts payable and receivable ledgers to the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations and investigating reconciling items to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records
- Conducting periodic reviews of vendor and debtor statements to ensure all outstanding obligations and receivables are accurately recorded and followed up in a timely manner
- Assisting in the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports, including journals, accruals, and supporting schedules to facilitate accurate and timely financial reporting
- Managing debtor accounts including monitoring outstanding balances, issuing statements, following up on overdue accounts, and preparing arrears reports for management
- Analysing cash flow, preparing accounts receivable ageing reports, and providing financial projections to assist management in decision-making and financial planning
- Developing and maintaining internal control procedures over financial processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
Requirement:
- Bachelor degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- At least 2-3 years of previous experience in accounting within a property, retail leasing, or real estate environment
- Demonstrated experience with MRI property management accounting software (essential)
- Experience with CoreVision and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to resolve financial discrepancies and work effectively under pressure
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service with a professional and customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage debtor collections calmly, professionally, and in accordance with company policy
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tasks from multiple sources effectively
Pay: $105,000.00 per year
