Team Leader Pools and Recreation Facilities
Permanent Full Time
Salary commencing at $39.06 per hour (plus superannuation)
Hindmarsh Shire Council is seeking an organised, community-focused and safety-conscious Team Leader Pools and Recreation Facilities to oversee the day-to-day operation of Council’s four outdoor swimming pools and support recreation facility management across the Shire. Reporting to the Coordinator Facilities, this role is responsible for leading lifeguard personnel, coordinating rosters, supporting pool season preparation and closure, maintaining safe and welcoming aquatic facilities, and assisting with recreation facility audits, maintenance priorities and user group support during the off-season.
The successful applicant will have strong leadership and communication skills, sound judgement in relation to safety, and demonstrated experience in aquatic, leisure or recreation facility operations. Experience supervising staff, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining accurate operational records will be highly regarded.
This is a permanent full-time position working 152 hours per four-week cycle. Hours will be provided through a monthly roster and may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends during the pool season.

- Pool Lifeguard and First Aid qualifications or ability to obtain is required
- Pool Plant Operators Certificate (Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate) is preferred
- Experience supervising a team of staff in an aquatic and leisure/recreation services environment carrying out daily operational duties
- Ability to provide effective customer service and respond to enquiries from the community in a positive and professional manner
- Demonstrated understanding of Occupational Health and Safety principles as they apply to aquatic environments
- Must have sound judgement in relation to safety and escalation of issues
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with a friendly and approachable manner
- Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical, police check and Working with Children Check
- Current Australian Driver License
