Key Responsibilities:
- Welding and fabrication of Vacuum Tanker equipment
- Perform stainless steel and mild steel MIG welding, TIG welding, and oxy cutting tasks
- Weld dissimilar metals, including mild steel to stainless steel
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Safely operate overhead gantry cranes and workshop equipment
- Work safely at heights when required
- Complete administrative tasks including time recording and quality control documentation
- High attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required
- Creative problem-solving and “think outside the box” approach
What you’ll bring:
- Previous welding experience, demonstrating proficiency in stainless steel MIG welding
- Experience with TIG welding stainless steel (desirable)
- Proven experience in a similar fabrication or welding role
- Ability to pass mild steel and stainless-steel weld tests during the recruitment process
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding, TIG welding, and oxy cutting
- Experience operating overhead gantry cranes
- Working at Heights certification (current certification preferred)
- Current driver’s licence
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential)
