About the role:
As the Public Health Coordinator, you will lead the City’s Public Health Team and play a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the health, safety and wellbeing of our community. This is a strategic leadership position that combines regulatory expertise, people leadership and community impact.
The role supports the achievement of the City's strategic objectives through effective service delivery, stakeholder engagement, legislative compliance, workforce leadership and implementation of evidence-informed public health initiatives.
What you’ll bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will align with the City’s Values and be able to demonstrate the below competencies:
- Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent qualification recognised by the Chief Health Officer of Western Australia for appointment as an Authorised Officer under the Public Health Act 2016.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental health, public health or regulatory services, including substantial experience in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, including staff supervision, performance management, mentoring and team development.
- Demonstrated experience in policy development, strategic planning and organisational continuous improvement.
Pre-employment requirements:
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- National Police Clearance (less than six months old).
- Proof of right to work in Australia.
- Pre-employment medical (arranged and paid for by the City).
