MAETEL ASIA PACIFIC PTY LTD is seeking an experienced and proactive Accountant to join our team.
This role is ideal for a professional with solid experience in the construction industry, strong financial and analytical skills, and the ability to work in an international business environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial statements
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow management
- Prepare BAS, GST, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors
- Maintain accurate general ledger records
- Monitor project costing, budgeting, and financial performance
- Support contract administration and subcontractor payment processes
- Assist with forecasting and financial analysis
- Liaise regularly with Head Office in Spain regarding reporting and financial matters
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and company procedures
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and internal controls
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience as an Accountant within the construction industry is essential
- Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting and tax requirements
- Experience using:
- Microsoft Navision
- Xero
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills
- Spanish language skills are highly preferred due to regular communication with Head Office in Spain
