About the Role
We are looking for a full-time Trades Assistant to join our Maintenance team at our state-of-the-art grading facility in Euroa.
Working alongside our experienced Maintenance Fitters, you’ll provide hands-on support with preventative and reactive maintenance, equipment repairs and general maintenance across our automated production and grading equipment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys practical work and is looking to build a career in maintenance. We’re looking to develop and support the right candidate, with the opportunity to step into a Mature Age Apprenticeship and work towards becoming a qualified Maintenance Fitter.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Lead, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Maintenance Fitters with preventative and reactive maintenance
- Supporting equipment breakdowns, repairs and general maintenance activities
- Assisting with the maintenance of plant and production equipment
- Helping maintain conveyors, chains, belts, rollers, pumps, compressors and other machinery
- Assisting with basic mechanical repairs and component replacements under supervision
- Assisting with equipment inspections, routine servicing and fault finding
- Carrying, organising and managing tools, spare parts and maintenance materials
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop and maintenance area
- Assisting with spare parts, stock management and maintenance documentation
- Following all workplace health and safety requirements, including PPE, lockout/tagout procedures and continuous improvement initiative

What We’re Looking For
- Previous hands-on experience in maintenance, mechanical work or a similar industrial environment, with a desire to turn your practical experience into a recognised trade qualification
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in machinery and maintenance
- Experience using hand and power tools
- A willingness to learn from experienced Maintenance Fitters
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision
- Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable, motivated and enthusiastic attitude
- A willingness to build a long-term career in maintenance, including undertaking a Mature Age Apprenticeship and working towards a recognised trade qualification
