We're an exciting new neighbourhood bistro opening in Fitzroy, inspired by New York cafés and modern European bistros. Our menu celebrates seasonal produce with a plant-forward approach, featuring breakfast, lunch, house-made sandwiches, salads, soups and baked goods alongside specialty coffee and a carefully curated drinks program.
We're looking for an experienced café chef who enjoys working in a small, professional team and is confident taking ownership of the kitchen during quieter services.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing breakfast and lunch service
- Producing high-quality sandwiches, salads and seasonal dishes
- Daily prep and mise en place
- Maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards
- Managing your section independently
- Assisting with ordering, stock rotation and minimising waste
- Working collaboratively with front-of-house to deliver excellent service
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a quality café or brunch venue
- Confident working independently
- Strong breakfast experience
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Positive attitude and team-first approach
- Reliable and punctual
- Passion for fresh, seasonal food
- Experience with plant-based cooking is highly regarded but not essential
