The Commission supports the Commissioner for Equal Opportunity in administering the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 and the Conciliation Services team provides the access to avenues of redress for unlawful discriminatory practices and policies.
About the role
As a member of the Conciliation Services team, you will be primarily responsible for investigating, conciliating, and reporting on complaints of unlawful discrimination under the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 and other relevant Acts. This will include preparing for, and convening, conciliation conferences and working with the parties to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes.
For this position, we are looking for people who have a knowledge and commitment understanding the causes and effects of discrimination and harassment and the ability to adapt to a range of audiences and communicate impartial and provide timely procedural advice.
The Commission encourages applicants with an understanding of discrimination through a lived or shared experience.

Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
