Roof Tiler Apprentice
We are looking for a motivated, reliable and hardworking Roof Tiler Apprentice to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a skilled trade while working alongside experienced roof tilers on a range of residential and commercial roofing projects.
As an apprentice, you’ll receive practical, on-the-job training and develop the skills required to become a qualified Roof Tiler while working towards a nationally recognised Certificate III qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist tradespeople and supervisors with daily roofing tasks.
- Maintain clean, organised and safe work sites at the end of each day and project.
- Ensure company vehicles, factory and warehouse are kept clean and well maintained.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and company standards.
Typical Duties
You will assist with:
- Preparing ladders, roof elevators and equipment for safe access.
- Installing roof underlays and sarking over roof structures.
- Measuring, spacing and fixing timber battens to roof rafters.
- Laying concrete and terracotta roof tiles, slate or other roofing materials.
- Measuring and cutting lead flashings to fit around chimneys, vents and other roof penetrations.
- bedding and pointing ridge capping tiles
- Installing roof vents, skylights and other roof penetrations.
- Performing roof and gutter cleaning.
- Carrying out roof maintenance and repairs where required.
- Assessing work quality and complying with relevant Australian Standards and local authority requirements.
- Cleaning roofs and removing debris upon completion of each project.

- Current driver’s licence (or working towards obtaining one) is desirable.
- Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain) is desirable.
Training & Qualifications
Successful applicants will work towards a nationally recognised qualification, including:
Certificate III in Roof Tiling.
Certificate III in General Construction (Roof Tiling).
