Abrasive Blaster & Industrial Painter
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Abrasive Blaster and Industrial Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, abrasive blasting, coating application, and industrial painting of structural steel, equipment, and various industrial components to high-quality standards and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform abrasive blasting using a range of blasting media and equipment
- Prepare surfaces for painting and protective coatings
- Apply industrial coatings, primers, and finishes using spray painting equipment
- Mix paints and coatings to manufacturer specifications
- Inspect surfaces and completed coatings for quality and compliance
- Operate and maintain blasting and painting equipment safely
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical drawings
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WHS and environmental requirements
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
- Work effectively both independently and within a team environment
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in abrasive blasting and industrial painting
- Knowledge of surface preparation standards and coating systems
- Experience using airless and conventional spray equipment
- Ability to work in industrial, workshop, or site environments
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Ability to follow safety procedures and use PPE correctly
- Forklift, EWP, Working at Heights, or Confined Space tickets highly regarded
Job Type: Subcontract
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sydney NSW
