Telecommunications Network Planner

Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $75,000 – $77,000 per annum plus superannuation
About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Telecommunications Network Planner to join our team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supporting the development of telecommunications network infrastructure. This role involves assessing network requirements, preparing technical plans, supporting network design activities, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and assisting with the delivery of reliable telecommunications solutions for clients and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and assist with the development of telecommunications network infrastructure for customer access networks.
- Review project requirements and assist in preparing network plans, layouts, diagrams and technical documentation.
- Assess existing telecommunications infrastructure and identify requirements for network upgrades, expansion or improvement.
- Coordinate with technicians, field engineers, contractors, vendors and service providers to support network planning and implementation.
- Maintain accurate records of network assets, equipment, locations, project information and technical documentation.
- Monitor network performance information and assist in identifying faults, defects or service issues.
- Provide technical support and advice in relation to telecommunications network planning, installation and maintenance requirements.
- Assist with troubleshooting, network optimisation and resolution of telecommunications service issues.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, technical standards, safety requirements and relevant industry regulations.
- Prepare reports, project updates and records relating to network planning activities and project progress.
Skills and Experience Required
- Relevant qualification in telecommunications, networking, engineering, information technology or a related field.
- Previous experience in telecommunications network planning, technical support, field engineering, network infrastructure or a closely related role.
- Understanding of telecommunications networks, customer access infrastructure, cabling, equipment and network systems.
- Ability to read and prepare technical plans, network diagrams and related documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project timelines.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements relevant to telecommunications projects.
Employment Conditions
This is a permanent full-time position requiring 38 hours per week.
The salary offered is between $75,000 and $77,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $77,000.00 per year
