Woks Up Alice Springs is a fast-paced, locally owned and operated Chinese restaurant known for serving fresh, delicious, cooked-to-order stir-fries, noodle dishes, and traditional sides. We are looking for an energetic, versatile, and experienced Hospitality All-Rounder to join our busy team in Alice Springs.
Position Description & Responsibilities
As a Hospitality All-Rounder, you will perform a dynamic, cross-functional role spanning front-of-house service, beverage preparation, customer care, and light back-of-house operational support. Your specific responsibilities will include:
Customer Service & Reservations: Greeting and seating guests with a friendly demeanor, taking telephone and digital reservations, and professionally managing table allocations.
Order & Table Service: Presenting food and beverage menus, taking accurate customer orders, communicating special dietary needs to the kitchen, and serving freshly prepared food and hot drinks efficiently.
Beverage Operations: Preparing, serving, and selling various non-alcoholic beverages, custom soft drinks, and specialty espresso-based coffees (selecting, grinding, and pulling espresso shots).
POS & Financial Transactions: Operating the electronic cash register and EFTPOS terminal, accurately collecting payments, processing takeaway/delivery orders, and managing register reconciliations.
Venue Presentation & Upkeep: Clearing tables, returning used dishes, glassware, and cutlery to the kitchen, and ensuring front-of-house dining and beverage-making spaces are strictly cleaned and sanitized.
Inventory & Stock Control: Assisting with replenishing drink dispensers, refrigerators, and condiment shelves, along with unpacking stock deliveries as required.
Promotional Focus: Actively showcasing our menu specials, combos, and partner-brand items to enhance the overall customer dining experience.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
Experience: A minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant, verifiable full-time work experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting within the last 5 years.
Education: An Australian Certificate II or III in Hospitality (or equivalent international qualification) is highly regarded but not strictly mandatory if countered by solid industry experience.
English Language Proficiency
Attributes: Exceptional communication skills, ability to thrive under pressure during peak dinner rushes, a strong work ethic, and a passion for customer-first service.
