About the Opportunity
As a Social Worker Level 1/2, you will work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team within the Child and Family Health Team, providing evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling and care coordination to parents, children, and families across the Central Coast. This is a unique opportunity to build your therapeutic counselling skills while making a lasting impact on the wellbeing of children and their families.
We have two positions available:
- Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week, and
- Temporary Part Time, 24 hours per week, until 27th June 2027 (working days are negotiable, with Fridays preferred to support clinical review).

In this role you will:
- Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed psychosocial assessments, counselling, and therapeutic interventions to support healthy family relationships and child development.
- Provide case coordination, individual and family therapy, group programs, and referrals to community services that best meet the needs of children and families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues and external service partners to ensure integrated, high-quality care and positive outcomes.
- Contribute to service development, evaluation, quality improvement, and the education and support of staff and students.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a demonstrated understanding of the AASW Practice Standards, as well as a current valid Australian driver's licence.
- An interest in developing and/or strengthening therapeutic counselling skills while working collaboratively with parents, children, and families.
- An understanding of psychosocial and attachment issues affecting child development, with experience or interest in individual and family counselling, brief interventions, and group facilitation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centred care.
