About the Opportunity
As the C4I Designer for Austal Defence Australia (ADA), you’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering seamless command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence solutions across Defence shipbuilding platforms. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full system lifecycle, ensuring smooth integration of advanced capabilities while collaborating closely with OEMs and their integration partners to achieve cohesive, mission-ready outcomes.

What’s Involved
- Assist the C4I Engineer working on assigned tasks

Gaining exposure and experience to become an SME on agreed equipment and systems
-
Create, update and review C4I integration documentation, including working with the Fitout designers for space integration, Electrical for power and network integration, Mechanical for cooling and services, Structural for mounting and loads

Review of Subcontract offers, scopes and subcontract document requirement lists with assistance of the C4I Engineer if and as required
-
3D CAD modelling and model adjustments, and associated drawings
-
2D CAD schematic/diagram drafting, arrangements and details
-
Support of Production during installation, build and STW
-
Support of V&V during testing and acceptance activities

Reporting on Earned Value Management to report design, documentation and physical completion
You’ll Need
-
3+ years experience in Electrical design or systems integration
- 3+ years experience in drafting or modelling
-
Electrical design and integration, experience, ideally in the C4I space and in defence shipbuilding

2D and 3D drafting and modelling

Experience with management of bill of materials and lists in Excel and databases

Technical specification writing
- Electrical equipment design an integration

Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
