We are seeking an experienced, locally based Operations Coordinator to take ownership of the safe execution of hire fleet operations in Newman.
This role is critical in ensuring all activities are conducted in line with WHS legislation, fatigue management laws, and Northfleet’s safety standards. You will actively monitor, coordinate and influence safe behaviours, ensuring that no operational outcome is achieved at the expense of safety.
- Take accountability for the safe coordination and utilisation of the hire fleet (wet and dry hire).
- Champion a visible, proactive safety culture, reinforcing that safety is the first priority in all decisions.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, fatigue management and all transport safety regulations.
- Monitor daily operations to identify, manage and mitigate operational and safety risks.
- Ensure all hire and off-hire processes meet strict safety and compliance standards.
- Lead and support a team of Bus Drivers and an Administrator with a strong focus on safe work practices and behaviours.
- Maintain accurate and compliant operational and safety documentation and reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety systems, procedures, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with operational, sales and administration teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with employees, customers and suppliers while reinforcing Northfleet’s safety expectations.
- Demonstrated experience in a transport/logistics role with a strong safety and compliance focus.
- In-depth understanding of Work Health & Safety (WHS), and fatigue management legislation.
- Proven ability to lead, influence and enforce safe work practices in operational environments.
- Strong risk awareness with the ability to identify hazards and implement controls.
- Experience in the fleet hire (highly regarded).
- Previous experience supervising teams in a safety-critical environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly set and uphold safety expectations.
