Private Billing General Practice in Gordon NSW, is looking for a compassionate, committed and effective individual to be an important part of our patient focused and friendly team, delivering the highest level of personalised service. This would suit you if you enjoy working in a small clinical team in primary care of 7 doctors and 2 nurses (in job share), delivering the highest influence and care for your patients and you also like a level of autonomy to work towards clinical goals. You are efficient, effective as well as flexible in your approach as needed for a wide ranging General Practice caring long term for all ages.
Qualifications & experience
- AHPRA Registered Nurse with more than 3 years solid experience
- A compassionate, caring nature with excellent communication skills. You will posess a real desire to effect better health outcomes for patients in the community.
- Organisational skills, ability to prioritise and time manage in a dynamic environment, running own appointment book
- Ability to work independently with autonomy, responsible for the nursing function or in a team while communicating well within team of 2 nurses job sharing
- Confidence to private bill for services in private practice
- Experience will be valued working in community or ability to learn CCM care planning, Health Assessments, immunisation, wounds and triage/acute care will be valued
- Deeper knowledge of Chronic Conditions, Health Coaching, Preventative Health will be part of your interest
- Initiative, continual improvement mindset and leadership skills will put you in good stead to lead nursing care in this position
- General Practice Nurse experience will be advantaged although full training provided for suitable candidate.
- Candidates living locally will be prioritised
Tasks & responsibilities
Practice Nurses are valued in General Practice. Practice Nurses firstly interact with, know patients well acting as advocate and friend. Their many duties include vaccinations, injections, wound dressing, assistance in procedures, ECG, care planning, health assessments, recalls, education, referrals, navigating the health system while also running Treatment Room, Infection Control and Sterilisation, Cold Chain and Medication Management. Practice Nurses can work in conjunction with doctors and will be supported to run clinical initiatives.
Availability:
- 18-22 hours (2-3 days) per week with no weekends except vaccination clinics very occasionally, shared and with agreement.
- Friendly hours during normal business opening times, school hours are possible. (no after hours)
- Flexibility is required in rostering to fill in for 1 day extra/week for holidays 4 weeks/year and busy times as the same will be afforded yourself by your nursing team member.
