Casual Registered Nurse – Clinical Oversight

We are a new disability support provider currently completing our NDIS registration and audit preparation.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide clinical oversight and assist us establish the systems required to safely deliver high-intensity supports.
This is primarily a work-from-home role. However, the successful applicant may occasionally need to travel within Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs to:
- Complete initial participant assessments
- Develop or review participant-specific care plans
- Deliver staff training
- Complete competency assessments
- Provide participant-specific clinical guidance
The role will initially be casual, with approximately 2 paid hours per week, although additional paid hours are likely during the registration and audit stage. All approved time spent on audit preparation, document review, clinical governance meetings and participation in the NDIS audit will be paid.
Key responsibilities
- Providing clinical oversight and governance
- Completing initial clinical assessments for participants
- Reviewing and developing participant-specific care plans
- Supporting clinical policies, procedures and documentation
- Training disability support workers
- Completing competency assessments
- Reviewing clinical risks and escalation processes
- Supporting NDIS audit readiness for high-intensity services
Relevant clinical experience
Applicants should have experience in most or all of the following high-intensity support areas:
- Complex bowel care, including enemas
- Tracheostomy management
- Urinary catheter management
- Complex wound management
- Subcutaneous injections
- Enteral feeding, including PEG and nasogastric feeding
- Ventilator management
- Severe dysphagia management
Experience providing clinical supervision, staff mentoring, training and competency assessment within disability, community nursing or complex care settings is highly desirable.
Essential requirements
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation and communication skills
- Ability to participate in the NDIS audit process
- Ability to work independently and within professional scope
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
- Access to a reliable, registered and insured vehicle
- Ability to travel within Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs when required
The role is expected to grow into more regular part-time hours, with the potential to become full-time as participants come on board and the business develops.
