Are you switched on, hands on, and passionate about wildlife? The Great Ocean Road Wildlife Park is looking for a reliable, motivated allrounder to join our team. This is a dynamic role in a beautiful natural setting, perfect for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and meaningful work.
We are a small, dedicated team, and we’re seeking someone who can confidently move
between customer service, administration, shop operations, and practical outdoor duties — including helping care for our animals.
About the Role
This is a diverse position that includes:
Customer Service
- Providing warm, welcoming service to all visitors
- Handling ticket sales and general guest enquiries
- Ensuring every visitor has a positive, memorable experience
Administration
- Managing email correspondence
- Coordinating tour bookings and group arrivals
- Using booking and sales software (training provided)
Shop Operations
- Overseeing daily shop flow and POS management
- Merchandising and maintaining a clean, well presented shop
- Opening and closing procedures
Ordering & Stock
- Researching suppliers and sourcing merchandise
- Placing orders and monitoring stock levels
- Ensuring essential items are always available
Animal & Park Duties
- Assisting with enclosure cleaning and general park maintenance
- Supporting basic animal husbandry (training provided)
- Running scheduled animal encounters for visitorsAbout You
- We’re looking for someone who is:
- Independent — you see what needs to be done and take initiative
- Organised — you enjoy systems, structure, and attention to detail
- A strong communicator — excellent written and spoken English
- Tech confident — comfortable with MS Office and learning new software
- Local & reliable — a nearby resident with your own transport
- Hands on — happy working outdoors and around animals
Requirements
- Full working rights in Australia (not open to WHV holders)
- Previous experience in customer service, administration, or sales
- Experience in wildlife or tourism is desirable
- Ability to work weekends
- Minimum of two references
Full training will be provided for our systems and animal encounter procedures.
Pay: From $32.18 per hour
