Join a dynamic and fast-paced inpatient mental health service where you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across two specialist adolescent inpatient units at Bankstown and Liverpool. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 13 to 18 years who are experiencing complex mental health challenges, while working alongside dedicated clinicians committed to delivering high-quality care.

As part of the team, you will conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to support diagnostic clarification and formulation for presentations that may include acute suicide risk, self-harm, psychosis, drug and alcohol issues, severe anxiety, depression, and other challenging behaviours. You will also deliver short-term targeted individual and group-based psychological interventions, helping young people achieve positive outcomes during critical periods of care. You will be supported by a network of experienced psychologists across the SWSLHD inpatient mental health services, providing ongoing professional development, collaboration, and peer support

Completed Masters of Clinical Psychology and endorsed as a Clinical Psychologist (or eligible to be).
Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skill, and experience in delivering evidence-based clinical psychology interventions with adolescents in both individual and group setting (and preferably in inpatient setting)
Experience working with consumers with severe mental illness
Experience working in a dynamic environment, meeting fast turnaround deadlines
Flexible and adaptable to change
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team
Experience working in a public healthcare setting

Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with Endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology (or eligibility to progress to same), along with a minimum two-year full-time equivalent APAC-accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology qualification.
Please describe a client with complex mental health needs that you have assessed and treated. What assessment tools or approaches did you use, how did you formulate the client’s needs, and what evidence-based interventions did you provide? What was the outcome?
Provide an example of a time when you worked within a multidisciplinary team to improve a client outcome or service delivery. What was your role, how did you communicate with different stakeholders, and what was the result?
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P. Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
