Ashfield Baptist Homes provides a home for 136 residents. We specialise in residential and home care with a long history of providing care and promoting independence.
This role will be based within our boutique aged care facility in Ashfield (within walking distance to a great local café and driving distance to Ashfield Mall)
We are seeking a Financial/Management Accountant who is driven and will make their mark within our Finance Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse general ledger accounts and produce monthly management reports
- Prepare the month-end reporting pack, monthly BAS and annual FBT returns
- Prepare and reconcile residential Services Australia funding statements monthly
- Undertake monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the assets register and integrity of accounting systems
- Lead annual budget preparation and periodic reforecasting
- Undertake AN-ACC funding and care minutes scenario modelling
- Review and approve supplier payments and provide AP oversight/guidance
- Establish and maintain a physical asset management system and register (equipment, plant, IT)
- Coordinate asset stocktakes, servicing and disposal/write-off processes
- Assist with the annual, interim and final audit process
- Provide backup/relief across payroll, resident funding and accounts functions as needed
About You:
- Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar, with demonstrated progression in scope and responsibility
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
- Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement within a finance team
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to work independently and in a team
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities to tight deadlines
- Solutions-oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with associated reporting systems
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent)
- CA/CPA registration (or working towards)
- Desirable: progression towards CIMA or equivalent management accounting qualification
