We’re looking for an experienced Field Supervisor to join our Electrical Services team in Lidcombe. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations, supporting technicians and contractors, and ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality delivery across our smart metering projects.
You’ll combine strong technical expertise with people and operational leadership, helping our field teams deliver against client requirements, service levels and KPIs.
What you’ll be doing
As a Field Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for:
- Overseeing the daily field operations of BSA employees and contractors across assigned projects or regions
- Providing on-site technical support, guidance and supervision to field technicians and contractors
- Conducting quality and documentation checks to ensure work meets BSA and client standards
- Monitoring field performance against agreed service levels and KPIs
- Providing solutions to complex technical issues and failed or incomplete field visits
- Keeping the Operations Manager informed of daily operational matters, including workforce availability and absences
- Proactively communicating delays, issues and operational impacts to relevant stakeholders
- Communicating with clients on behalf of BSA and supporting strong client relationships
- Supporting the onboarding of contractors and providing assistance with technical training
- Managing workforce availability, capacity, stock distribution and field materials
- Identifying deficiencies and implementing or recommending corrective actions
- Ensuring company procedures are implemented effectively and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Responding to customer complaints and enquiries professionally and promptly
- Undertaking installations and service calls where required
Safety, quality and compliance
Safety is a key part of this role. You’ll be expected to:
- Promote and support a strong safety-first culture across field operations
- Ensure safe work procedures, BSA policies and critical risk controls are followed
- Provide appropriate technical and HSE guidance to employees and contractors
- Conduct monthly live HSE audits and address any identified issues
- Ensure appropriate PPE is used
- Participate in incident investigations and complete required reporting
- Identify and escalate HSE risks and issues to management
- Support a safe working environment for our people, customers and the public
What you’ll bring
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
- A Grade Electrical licence
- ASP Level 2 accreditation (CAT 4 / Class 2D)
- Extensive experience in the metering industry
- Strong knowledge of smart metering and field service operations
- Understanding of changes to the National Electricity Rules (NER) and Type 1–4 meter rollouts
- Experience managing or supervising field teams and contractors
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to operational issues
