Optical Retail Assistant / Frame Stylist/ Reception Bunko Optical – Monash University Clayton Campus Starting July–August $30 per hour | Part-time Bunko Optical is a new independent optical store opening at Monash University Clayton. The store has a calm, minimalist “library” concept and is designed to make eye care feel more relaxed, practical and accessible for students, staff and the wider campus community. We are looking for an Optical Assistant / Frame Stylist / Receptionist to help create a good patient experience, keep the store organised and assist patients with choosing frames that suit their face, style and needs. This role would suit someone who is friendly, organised, has good taste, and enjoys helping people feel comfortable with their eyewear choices. Optical experience is helpful but not essential — training will be provided. What you’ll be doing: You’ll be helping with the day-to-day running of the store, including: - Greeting patients and making them feel welcome - Helping patients choose frames that suit their face, prescription and personal style - Keeping the frame displays clean, tidy and organised - Booking appointments and assisting with basic admin - Helping with payments, orders and patient details - Supporting the optometrist during clinic flow - Making sure the store feels calm, professional and well-presented What we’re looking for We are looking for someone who is: - Friendly, approachable and easy to talk to - Organised and reliable - Interested in fashion, styling, design or eyewear - Comfortable speaking with students, staff and patients from different backgrounds - Able to work independently when needed - Detail-oriented and willing to learn Previous experience in optical, retail, healthcare or customer service is a bonus, but not required. The main thing is having the right attitude and being good with people.
