Godolphin has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Farm Hand to join our team at our Northwood Park operation located near Seymour Victoria. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the successful applicant will be organised, efficient and motivated, demonstrating strong attention to detail along with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic, with a willingness to go above and beyond in the role.
Farm hands are responsible for the timely delivery of all tasks associated with rural fence removal and installation of construction projects to ensure Godolphin’s assets are maintained to quality and safety standards. This position has a strong focus on construction of quality horse safe fencing.
Key Responsibilities include:

Undertake routine pasture maintenance operations, including fertiliser application, topping, sowing, slashing and spraying
- Perform routine and periodic maintenance and repair of fencing
- Constructing and maintaining horse safe fencing across a large thoroughbred stud
- Landscape maintenance including lawn maintenance, regular weed and pest control
- Farm machinery operation Interpret and apply work instruction and information related to specific tasks, work routine and procedures, recognising and taking responsibility for own role and work area
- Monitoring maintenance records register for required works, communicating issues and reports to the relevant Managers
Criteria:

Knowledge and practical experience in the farming industry will be highly regarded
- Competent in the use and maintenance of power tools and equipment
- Competent in the use of machine operation i.e. tractors
- Well organised, well presented and confident team player with a proven track record of punctual and reliable work attendance
- Understanding of and practical experience in applying safe systems of work practices, including identifying and reporting risks
