About the Role:
Roster and Location:
- Day or Afternoon Shift Available
- Day Shift - Monday - Thursday 6am - 2:30pm Friday 6am - 12pm
- Afternoon Shift, Monday - Thursday 2:30pm - 11pm Friday 12pm - 6pm
- Based in Paget, Mackay (Commercial Ave)
Responsibilities:
As a Machinist at Austchrome, you’ll be involved in manufacturing and reclamation of hydraulic components using:
- Manual Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Bores and Cylindrical grinders.
- CNC Lathes and Horizontal and Vertical Borers running Fanuc controllers.
- Reading and interpreting complex engineering and CAD drawings to produce jobs to specifications.
- Conducting in-process quality checks with micrometers and other precision measuring tools.
- Collaborating in a team environment with experienced tradespeople across machining, fabrication, fitting and plating.
- Take responsibility for maintaining and improving a safe working environment and following all policies, procedures and safe work instructions.

- Hourly Rate: $45.52 – $51.09 per hour plus penalities & afternoon shift allowances

About You
You’ll ideally bring:
- Trade qualification as a Machinist
- Ability to machine to tight tolerances
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- A safety-first mindset
- A willingness to learn, contribute, and be part of a tight-knit team
