We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Estimator to join our demolition company in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project estimates and tenders, assessing project requirements, coordinating with clients and suppliers, and supporting projects from initial enquiry through to contract award.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in demolition, construction, civil works, or a related industry who has strong attention to detail and understands project costs, materials, labour, plant and subcontractor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.
- Conduct site inspections and assess demolition requirements, site conditions, access and potential risks.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and project tenders.
- Calculate labour, materials, equipment, plant, disposal, transport and subcontractor costs.
- Obtain and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify project requirements, exclusions, variations and potential cost risks.
- Liaise with clients, builders, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify project requirements.
- Prepare professional and competitive tender submissions.
- Assist with developing project budgets and cost schedules.
- Maintain accurate estimating records and tender documentation.
- Track upcoming tenders and follow up on submitted quotations.
- Work closely with project managers and management to ensure estimates accurately reflect project requirements.
- Assist with handover of successful projects from estimating to project delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve project margins and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Ensure estimates comply with relevant Victorian regulations, project specifications and company requirements.
Pay: $50.00 – $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
