We have exciting opportunities for those people that enjoy supporting vulnerable people. The Mental Health Support Worker is an essential role assisting participants to achieve their plan goals and assist them in having a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
To give you a sense of what the day to day job may look like, here are some examples of things that we might do with our Participants:
Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication prompting
Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
Social support/transportation: social activities, shopping/groceries, travelling to medical appointments
Monitoring the well-being of participants and reporting on their progress,
Participating in staff meetings and attending training as required
ABOUT YOU:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, comfort meeting and engaging new people.
- Prior experience in a mental health or community-related role. If you do not have such experience that is ok, explain in your application how your professional/life experience gives you the ability to work effectively with people who are experiencing a range of serious mental health challenges.
- Are looking for a consistent and stable routine where you work roughly the same hours every week.
- Have the ability to manage your own roster and work independently.
- Are looking to commit to at least 12 months in the role so as to ensure a stable and consistent service for your clients.
- Desired: relevant training/education, such as:
- A degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- A Cert IV in Mental Health, or related field
- A certificate in Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
- COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination.
