Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the daily, hands-on operations of our maintenance department. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for supervising, guiding, and supporting our team of Maintenance Attendants. In this role, you will bridge the gap between management and floor operations, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
This is a stable, full-time position (38 hours per week) offering a base rate of $31.30 per hour. The roster is primarily Monday to Friday, but requires flexibility to meet operational demands and support team coverage.
Primary Responsibilities
- Daily Supervision: Delegate, monitor, and support the daily tasks of the Maintenance Attendants, ensuring high productivity and attention to detail.
- Operational Collaboration: Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning maintenance schedules and coordinate seamlessly with other resort/property departments.
- First Response: Lead the on-call response for after-hours emergency maintenance (e.g., power failures, fire system resets, mechanical issues).
- Liaison & Communication: Serve as a key point of contact for the General Manager, guests, external contractors, and the wider team.
Skills and Experience
- Proven Supervisor: Demonstrated experience supervising small teams in a property maintenance environment (strata or Management Rights (MLR) experience is highly regarded).
- Collaborative Leader: A hands-on, supportive leadership style focused on coaching and guiding Attendants rather than just managing paperwork.
- Compliance Focused: Strong working knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) legislative requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Organised & Proactive: Excellent organizational skills to balance reactive maintenance with an ongoing preventative maintenance schedule.
- Flexible: Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays when operational needs arise.
