This is a real leadership position at our Altona Outlet — and the beginning of something bigger. As Assistant Showroom Manager, you are not waiting for the Showroom Manager to step away before you lead. You are trusted with the floor, Friday and Saturday are yours to own, and Tuesday through Thursday you work closely alongside the Showroom Manager — contributing commercially, coaching the team, and improving how the showroom operates.
We are looking for someone with a genuine eye for design — someone who understands the King Living aesthetic, can guide customers through considered purchasing decisions, and sets the creative and commercial tone when they walk through the door.

What You Will Own
Lead the Showroom Floor — For Real Friday and Saturday are yours. You set the commercial tone, maintain the standard, and make the decisions that need to be made. This is not supervision — it is leadership. Tuesday to Thursday, you work closely alongside the Showroom Manager, contributing at every level and continuing to grow your capability.
Bring a Strong Design Eye You understand premium design and you use it to guide customers. Whether it's styling a room, advising on fabric and configuration, or helping a customer see their space differently — your design instinct is a genuine asset to the team and to the customer experience.
Coach the Team You are not just a strong individual performer. You actively make the people around you better — providing specific feedback in the flow of work, modelling commercial discipline, and mentoring the team on selling technique and product knowledge.
Drive Your Own Commercial Performance You know your conversion rate, your pipeline position, and your average transaction value. You manage them with discipline and set the example. Commercial credibility is the foundation of everything else you do.
Improve How the Outlet Operates You see inefficiencies and you do something about them — not because you were asked, but because you are already thinking like a Showroom Manager. Originated improvements, proposed solutions, and better processes.
Who You Are
You are ready for the next step — already leading in every way that matters, with a genuine passion for design and the commercial discipline to match.
- Confident leading the showroom independently on Fridays and Saturdays — setting the tone, driving sales, and making decisions with ownership
- A strong eye for design — you understand the King Living aesthetic and use it to inspire confident purchasing decisions
- Able to coach junior team members in the moment — specific, direct, and effective
- Know your commercial metrics and manage them daily
- Comfortable working Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Experience in furniture, interiors, fashion, or lifestyle retail — ideally in a premium or design-led environment
- Already informally leading in your current role and ready to do it formally
