Partner, Influence and Progress Your Career
Are you a senior finance professional looking to move beyond the numbers and genuinely shape how an organisation performs? This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of financial rigour and real social impact.
Community Housing Ltd is one of Australia's leading not-for-profit community housing providers, on a mission to end housing poverty. With significant growth underway across our national operations, there's no better time to join a team where your work matters.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be the go-to finance partner for our Victorian Long Term and THM Programs portfolio. This isn't a back-office role. You'll be working closely with State Managers and tenancy teams, assisting with Board-level reporting and forecasting, managing funding acquittals, and providing the financial insights that drive real decisions.
Day to day, you'll be responsible for:
- Budget oversight, variance analysis and performance reporting across the portfolio
- Preparing and presenting financial reports to senior management
-
Managing acquittal reporting to funding agencies in line with contractual obligations
-
Developing financial and operational models to support forecasting and cash flow management
- Reviewing and interpreting funding deeds, service agreements and program contracts
-
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Supporting external audit and assurance engagements
What We're Looking For
- CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 3 to 5 years in a Finance Business Partner or senior finance role
- Confidence working with complex contractual frameworks and funding arrangements
- Exposure to MS Dynamics BC, MagiQ or Jet Reports is a plus
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communicator who can translate financial information for non-finance audiences
- A genuine commitment to social housing and CHL's mission
You'll be part of a collaborative finance team that values accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement, in an organisation where the work has purpose behind it.
If you're looking for a role that challenges you technically while connecting you to something bigger, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
As an equal opportunity employer, CHL works closely with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. CHL acknowledges the traditional Aboriginal owners of country throughout Australia and we pay our respects to them, their culture and their Elders past and present.
